Roundhouse Reports on Epic Third Quarter for Events

Thursday, December 8, 2022 - 18:15

The iconic venue, situated in Camden, has recently hosted a multitude of galas and awards ceremonies helping fundraisers achieve millions of pounds for charity as well as awarding the great and the good.

This niche sector alone has shown a full return to 2019 levels alongside a rich programme of live music, fashion and celebratory events, making it the most successful quarter this year. This was topped off by the Roundhouse winning a gold award at the recent London Venue & Catering Awards for Best Venue for Awards or Gala Dinners.

Head of events Rhiân Pressley said “it’s heart-warming to see the full return of ALL events here, and to be awarded a gold award gives me immense pride and gratitude for the team’s hard work. Each event was a high-end showstopper involving many different aspects and intense preparation.”

The returning ASOS Foundation, Holocaust Education Trust and Grief Encounter all held star studded events for around 800 guests, and collectively raised millions for their causes.

Pressley continued “it’s wonderful to be able to help these charities supersede their goals to carry out important work for the people they support. Roundhouse is a charity that works with thousands of young people each year, so we can advise clients on how to create the ultimate fundraising event.”

High-end fashion designer Christopher Kane held his first Roundhouse show during fashion week and Universal Music held its annual Autumnal party featuring performances from a variety of label artists including Lewis Capaldi.

More live music came courtesy of WizKid, who performed as part of the Apple Music Live series. Plus ‘90’s legends Lemonheads performed a sold out show and Pavement gave four epic performances. Over three days Confidence Man, Creeper and Tove Lo performed back-to-back followed by Julia Jacklin and Muna.

Awards ceremonies consisted of The International Wine & Spirits Competition – IWSC – Awards honouring the best producers in the world, and the 11th annual Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, celebrating the LBGQT+ community in film, music and theatre, which returned once more. The British Association for Screen Entertainment – BASE – Awards honours both companies and individuals that have excelled in a variety of areas of the industry over the last year. And lastly, The Just Giving Awards celebrates the people and charities that work hard to make the world a better place.

Finally, the Booker Prize won by Shehan Karunatilaka for his second novel ‘The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida’ had the Queen Consort in attendance with Dua Lipa performing.
